Welcome,

For over 100 years this parish has been present in Cambridge serving Portuguese speaking people from the many lands where the language is spoken, Portugal, Madeira and the Azores, Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Moçambique as well as our English-speaking neighbors in the East Cambridge/Wellington-Harrington areas. As a bilingual, multi-cultural parish we welcome all who cross our threshold. In fact currently one can see people of other cultures, backgrounds and languages at our Sunday Eucharistic celebrations.

While we continue to honor the traditions of the founders of this parish we look forward to celebrating and enhancing our traditions by bridging with our neighboring parishes while strengthening the mission of Evangelization with the greater Church of the Archdiocese of Boston and the World.

It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve this parish immediately after my ordination from 1995 – 2000 and now to have been assigned as pastor since 2007. I am extremely thankful for, and also very proud of the devoted leadership of the clergy and laity who have served in this parish, and many who have supported the work of Jesus Christ in this parish. The traditions they have continued, begun and developed are important for us today.

We welcome your involvement in our parish community. It is through dedicated and faith-filled individuals that our tradition continues.

Sincerely in Christ,
Father Walter A. Carreiro
